MAKING ROBOTS ~ BUILDING LEADERS

More About HHS Red Nation Robotics #4576

WHO WE ARE-

RNR members participate year-round in FIRST® related activities, whether it be robot-design/building/programming practice, website and team promotion, raising funds to support the team or outreach events to promote FIRST® robotics and STEM education. This helps to not only prepare students for FIRST® Robotics Competitions (FRC), but it also helps to familiarize team members with the principles of FIRST®.

WHAT IS FIRST®?

In the words of FIRST® founder Dean Kamen, FIRST® was created "to transform our culture by creating a world where science and technology are celebrated and where young people dream of becoming science and technology heroes."

The mission of FIRST ® is to engage young people and inspire them to change the world. Through a wide range of opportunities and mentoring, participating students can enhance their technology skills, build self-confidence and leadership, learn to work as a team to achieve goals, and experience the excitement of FIRST ® competition while making many new friends along the way.

FIRST® organizes several robotics competitions to get students involved in robotics through a fun game. The major competition is the FIRST® Robotics Competition, in which students build robots to play a given game on a human-sized field.

HOW WE EXIST?

If it was not for the generosity of the individuals and businesses who sponsor our program, we would not have the resources to provide these great opportunities for our community. If you would like to sponsor our team, please see the SUPPORT US page.

GIVING BACK TO OUR COMMUNITY

Our Outreach to Veterans and Our Hometown Hero Ervin Schoolfield

RNR members participate year-round in FIRST® related activities, but we also work on giving and supporting our community and Robotics family.

Salute the Brave!

Ervin Schoolfielfield, our Hero.

Our Red Nation Mentor, Airforce VET, Dad, Neighbor and Friend Ervin is struggling with small cell Cancer. We are wrapping our arms around him and his family during this very difficult time. We have done a meal drive to help the family

MORE THAN JUST BUILDING ROBOTS

Meet the Team

We are a branch of FIRST ®   Robotics at Halls High School in Knoxville, TN. Team 4576 consists of 9 equally important sub-teams: Build, Business, Design, Marketing, Programming, Safety, Graphic Design, Scouting/Strategy, and Team Organization. Not only do we focus on building a robot, but we also strive to instill the values of STEM in the students and the community.

Awards / History

Team History and Awards

Red Nation Robotics experienced a phenomenal rookie season! Working with other area schools through Coopertition® and Gracious Professionalism®, Team 4576 won the honors of attending the FRC Championship Competition in St. Louis, MO. The team used that experience as motivation, working harder and smarter our second season and each season thereafter. This passion for improvement continues to drive the team today. Please click here for a chronological list of achievements.

Sponsor Us

Funding for competitions is a major concern for the Red Nation FIRST ® Robotics team. Generally, a team needs about $40,000 to $70,000 a year for travel, competition costs and robot construction, depending on if they make it to Worlds in Houston. The RNR Robotics students will spend an intense 6 weeks working every night and weekend to construct the most efficient robot. From this experience, the students learn to work collaboratively, experience real world application of classroom curriculum, and develop invaluable problem solving skills.
